It's Officially Summer

I know you haven't seen much of me. We're far too busy kicking off summer to stop for important things like, you know, regular meals, a predictable social schedule, or cleaning bathrooms.

We watched fireworks tonight.
Not sure why, since the 4th of July is more than a week away, but I've learned not to ask questions. Just grab a blanket and put on your flip flops and go.

"Look, Mommy. That's cute hat!"

Brooklyn was the designated photographer/videographer for Kate's piano recital.

Our backyard is rife with turtles! This one is a snapping turtle, much larger than it looks, and I'm telling you it had fangs. A few days later we found a cute little box turtle with an unconquerable spirit.

You can meet "Boxy" if you have the stomach for Kate's wild cinematography:

There is no name for this one. Bucket Ball?
You know you are a true Missourian when you find yourself sitting in a camping chair in your driveway of an evening.

Every day Nolan talks about "I go to zoo and ride train!"
Every.
Day.

And top it off with Kate's homemade blueberry pancakes!
