Baby Blues

Can you guess whose eyes are whose?

I know, right???

My brief education in genetics helped me draw a square (I don't know what it's called? Invented by Gregor Mendel maybe?) that tells me that between me and Travis, our chance of having children with either blue or brown eyes is 50/50.

Crazy that we got these two twinners right in a row, right?
AND that their eyes are exactly the same shade, which by the way is not even the same color as Travis's. I used to wish I had blue eyes, pretty much all my life. (My sister has these fabulous striking blue eyes, and I always felt like the ugly duckling next to her.)
Kate, on the other hand, tells me my eyes are more beautiful than hers and that she wishes she had brown eyes.
I tell her she's crazy.

Oh, here ya go:

(If you're still having trouble, the bruise on Brooklyn's forehead should be a dead giveaway. Poor girl - she is always sporting some kind of injury.)

Yes, it's amazing to get 2 in a row with that same beautiful color - same size and everything. Lucky girls. (By the way, I could tell whose eyes were whose in the cropped picture - the eye shapes are slightly different.)

You should take a picture like this of yourself and one of the girls. Compare the brown to blue - I'd like to see that!

Wow, they really are the same shade. I don't think the punnett square works so well in our family. Tyler has blue, I have brown and both my boys have green...weird.

I don't know if I ever noticed that they have the exact same color. I'll have to check Came and Austin. I'm like mom, I could tell because of the eye shapes. Kate's eyes are shaped like yours. Also, thank you! I never knew you wished you had my eyes. I've always thought you were the prettier one between us, with your long brown hair and I think your eyes are pretty too.

Uh, so that last comment was actually me. I didn't realize I was signed into Sterling's gmail account in another window.
