Four weddings and a funeral...?

Anyway I assume that at least four weddings took place on Valentine's Day. (Yes this is a Valentine's Day post. I'm a week late.)

There was definitely a funeral.
Unfortunately the time has come for me to write yet another pet obituary. Valentine's Day brought with it the sad demise of one of Kate's goldfish. Since we have trouble choosing suitable monikers for anything in our household other than children, this fish also died nameless. (We are thinking of naming him Posthumously.) For now he has been committed to the Tomb of the Unknown Goldfish.

ANONYMOUS. (2008-2009) Goldfish 1 passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2009, after a battle with illness. This beautiful goldfish came to live with us on July 21, 2008, on the second birthday of Kate Elizabeth Lundell, whose pet he was. He was a kindhearted goldfish, though he was not much for words and often swam crookedly. His family believes this was due to his failing health. His various illnesses continued to deplete him of life despite the loving care provided by his caretaker, Travis Lundell. On the fateful day of the goldfish's demise, Mr. Lundell put forth great effort to save the life of the ailing fish, even resorting to questionable remedies found on the internet and stopping just short of performing fish CPR. Sadly his efforts were in vain, and it seems it was this fish's time to go. His family will forever remember his lopsided swimming and the way he eagerly followed Travis around the bowl. He is survived by his tankmate, White Goldfish, and his human family, Travis, Krista, Kate, and Brooklyn Lundell. He was preceded in death by his earlier companion, the other birthday fish. Services were held that evening, February 14, in a small ceremony at home with family members only. He was commended to the deep.

In lieu of flowers, please donate goldfish crackers to the grieving family.

Kate did the honors.

Hahahaha! Not that your fish died (so sorry about that!) but that top picture looked so pretty that I completely missed the fact that it was taken on top of a toilet seat.

My sympathies to the Lundell family.
When Cleo passed away (one of Logan's Christmas gold fish) he watched me "commend her to the deep" & talked about it for several days. "Mommy flushed my fish!" He would periodically check the toilet water to see if she swam back up. Poor tramatized kid.

I'm SO SAD!!! Seriously! Spencer, Madi and I got pretty attached to kate's fish over the 3 week Christmas break. I can't tell you how many times I found myself talking to them, making faces, and swearing that they were responding back. Goldfish 1 will definitely be missed. Sounds like you had guys had a great funeral. Wish we could have come to pay our respects!
