Kate's Birthday, still...

Holy cow I can't believe I'm so behind. So like a WEEK ago we had an "official" birthday party for Kate. That's right, I had the brilliant idea to play host for a birthday party with kids. Those of you who know what a considerate hostess I can be are certainly seeing where this is going. But actually, I thought it turned out pretty well, considering that the only mishaps that befell us involved me serving all the food on sharp pointy sticks (kabobs at a 2-yr-old's birthday party. Yes I'm the genius behind that one), poisoning my friend Laura's youngest child with root beer, and cooking for 14 people on my little tiny Foreman grill because the big one was out of propane. But we DID have fun playing in the pool at least! Even I couldn't mess that one up. (PS Thanks to Laura and her awesome waterproof camera for all the swimming pictures!)

Let's see how I do at naming all the kids... Left to right: Brooklyn, Nicole, Rachel, Kate, Lexi & Kimberly (in back), Timothy, Andrew, Jacob, & Tess. Whew what a cute crowd!

Rachel is a born helper and was happy to help Kate eat a cupcake!

My kids are still talking about how cute Kate is! They had a blast, and Andrew never reacted to the root beer, so no worries! (to those of you who don't know, Andrew is allergic to root beer--it makes him throw up!) Thanks for inviting us!

Krista you crack me up! Everyone who knows you know youre always too hard on your self and youre AWESOME at throwing parties!!!! It was a fun party even though Lexi was a little terror and scared half the kids! Thanks for inviting us!!

In the picture of Kate eating the cupcake, she looks like she has red hair. like her daddy. Is that just a phenomenon of the camera or is it actually red?

mmm, I think it's just the lighting. Although it does really look pretty much the same color as Travis's (kind of a sandy light brown) - we will see when it REALLY starts to grow in!

oh man, if we were still in DC you KNOW Hunter would be giving her birthday kisses and feeding cupcake to Kate all day long... I guess he'll just have to wait until Christmas to give her a smooch! You're still going to Utah right?? Flight prices are crazy so we're seriously thinking about driving, ugh.
