Kate's Baptism!

This little 8-year-old was finally baptized yesterday!
{If you're wondering why we baptized our 8-yr-old daughter instead of our newborn baby girl, go here!]

We were so fortunate to have plenty of friends and family join us to celebrate Kate's big day. She had both pairs of grandparents as well as some dear friends from Kansas City who drove 2 1/2 hours to see us!
We had a fun and busy weekend playing and visiting. Unfortunately I have zero pictures of the lunch that followed. Here come some generic baptism-posing pictures!

This little crew has been friends since we first moved to Kansas City nearly three years ago. We lived on the same street and were all totally inseparable!

Kate was baptized by her dad - the first in this generation (on my side of the family) to be baptized! I was the first child to be baptized in my own family line.

I made her dress according to her own specifications, and finished it barely the day before.
(She also wore little white flowers in her hair that you can't see here!)

We are so proud of our sweet Kate and her decision to be baptized! She is growing up into such a kind, smart, fun, wonderful young lady! We love you, Kate!
