Where were YOU 27 years ago?

HERE I WAS!
(Okay so that was a not-so-subtle shout-out to my birthday today.)

Mostly, since I've become a mom it has dawned on my that birthdays are really all about MOMS, right? I mean, it's the mothers who GIVE birthdays in the first place, right? I did nothing except maybe flail and cry (judging from the picture anyway). It was all Mom. Certainly it was a much bigger day for her than it was for me. Plus, as the first child, I can be exclusively credited with completely changing her entire life. (The other kids are just additions to the new life, right?) Okay not to discredit my sibs, but I do know it is a big deal to become a mom for the very first time.

Here I am in the same moment as my mommy was, above.

So today, I'm sending a Happy My Birthday to my sweet mommy!

Who loves me :)
And I love her too.

Happy birthday Krista! I love the pictures of your parents. Every picture I see of your dad reminds me how much my dad and him look alike! It's so crazy!

Awww... I didn't plan on crying today.

Thanks for sweet reminder of one of the best days of my life - the day I became a mother. I didn't know what a joyful ride I was in for.

And the ride goes on.

Thanks for being such a wonderful daughter. You really are awesome!

I was just thinking the same thing a few months ago when we celebrated Logan's 4th birthday. It dawned on me that, "Wait a minute... I'M the one who went through labor and gave birth that day! I should be admired on this day!" hahaha. :)
Ever since becoming a mother, I've thought about my mom on my birthday more than myself.
