100th POST!

When I was teaching 1st grade, we celebrated the 100th day of school. Apparently it's a big thing. I'd never heard of it before. We did everything you can think of relating to "100". So in honor of this, our 100th post, I would like to list 100 things I love. (That's right. Get comfortable or else give up now.) In no particular order...:

1. My family (let this be all-inclusive or else I could just fill this with a list of 100 names)
2. Travis. He gets listed by himself.
3. My faith
4. Cereal

5. The beach at night
6. Kissing. Well I might as well own up to it.
7. When Kate throws her arms around my neck and says, "I love you, Mommy!"
8. Lifeguarding
9. Ice cream

10. Dancing. That's right folks, you heard me right. I didn't say "things I was any good at" - just things I love.
11. Balancing my checkbook
12. Star Wars

13. Swings with really really long ropes
14. Teaching
15. A really truly good book
16. A FULL NIGHT'S SLEEP! (Ah, memories...)
17. Swimming
18. Biking
19. Running (yes running. It took me two years of hating it but I finally, well sort of love it)
20. Triathlons (Sept. 27!)
21. Saving money!
22. Getting a package in the mail
23. Having someone (even my 2-yr-old, if she isn't sticky) run their fingers through my hair
24. Cold lemonade on a hot day (or even better... ice cream!)
25. New clothes
26. BYU football - (more specifically, making our own shirts before the first game!)

27. That day at the end of summer when it feels like early afternoon all day and a breeze just a shade cooler than summer sweeps in like a deep breath of fresh air. You know the day I mean. This year I think it fell exactly on Labor Day.
28. Having a baby. (Maybe it's partly because it means I'm not pregnant anymore!)
29. Holding a new baby. (Preferably my own)
30. Brooklyn's giggles
31. Lying in the sun
32. Baking cookies at Christmastime
33. Hot chocolate after a day in the snow
34. Curling up under a big blanket in a cool room. Either music or a classic movie should be playing
35. A big ostentatious family dinner
36. Late afternoon naps
37. Learning
38. Going to the temple

39. Waterskiing!
40. The Beatles
41. Looking at old pictures and having a few good laughs

42. Floating down the canal in Price
43. Having a clean house!
44. Playing the piano
45. SHAKESPEARE
46. Utah
47. Reading poetry alone in Rock Canyon (not my cheesy idea - a class requirement, but one I ended up loving)
48. Watching for lightning on the Wave Pool deck during a thunderstorm
49. When my email inbox says (1)
50. Popping bubble wrap
51. Being barefoot
52. Alfred, Lord Tennyson
53. Stepping on a crunchy-sounding leaf
54. Snow-cones
55. San Antonio, Texas
56. Going to movies. Especially $1 ones
57. Super Walmart. I'm not gonna lie. It's one thing I am struggling to live without, here on the East Coast. Give me some slack - any mother can appreciate one-stop shopping.
58. The way Travis makes me laugh... and the way he smells when he hugs me... and... okay this could get mushy.
59. Those cherry-pineapple popsicles that are crowding out my otherwise-neatly-organized freezer

60. Wearing a swimsuit all day (again, not "Things I look good in" or "Things I ought to be doing in public" - JUST "Things I love")
61. Othello - I know I already said Shakespeare, but this play makes me cry every time
62. Fireflies
63. HGTV
64. Kraft Food & Family magazine
65. DC drivers (no I'm not just checking to see if you're still awake - but by the way, are you? - I really think that despite the bad rap drivers of any locale always get, drivers here are more or less pretty responsible. I witnessed what could have been a HUGE rush-hour accident today, and all the drivers worked it out without even one horn honk. I have never even seen one middle finger since moving here. Seriously. Even with my asinine driving skills.)
66. Those really exciting, creative, action-packed dreams when you wake up and go, "WHOA!"
67. Summer carnivals
68. Free stuff
69. Diamonds (P.S. my birthday is 1/12)
70. Brushing my teeth
71. Weighing less than 150 lbs. (I always forget to appreciate this when I'm NOT pregnant)
72. Reading the Target weekly ad on Sunday morning
73. Singing in the car
74. That look of recognition that spreads across Brooklyn's face just before her big smile does
75. Camping
76. Skinny-dipping
77. A good long stretch
78. Lucky You perfume

79. Thanksgiving dinner
80. Reading other people's blogs
81. Spending Sunday evenings at Travis's grandma's house
82. Raking leaves and drinking hot cider
83. Cadbury mini-eggs
84. Fenry (my first car)
85. Friends!
86. Sleeping outside on the trampoline
87. Spying, conducting secret missions, and/or pulling pranks
88. Toast
89. Making something (anything - as long as it's mostly successful)
90. Coloring in coloring books (this one is, as you can imagine, newly rediscovered)
91. Dining out
92. The National Zoo
93. Random people who are nice to my little girls
94. The way Kate recites The Big Wide-Mouthed Frog, verbatim. Cover to cover.

95. Visits with my family (the ones who don't live with me)
96. Going on dates
97. Doing a puzzle - especially at Christmas
98. That point where you're outside playing and you don't even realize it's gotten dark
99. Roasting marshmallows
100. Going to bed at the end of the day with a full feeling of accomplishment

Which I think I will do now... (although maybe I could've accomplished something more substantial today... but sometimes a little break is good too!)

You are so awesome!!! I love your number 31! I like it super HOT and on a trampoline or by the pool.

That sounds pretty DIRTY HU?? Its true though. I also like it when its like 110 and i get in my car after its been sitting in the sun all day with out turning on the AC to drive. After being in a cold building all day.... theres just something about that!

All I can say is balancing my checkbook is WAY below diamonds on my list of things I like. Thank goodness this was in no particular order...

You are awesome! My kids still have elaborate 100th day celebrations. I say we load our purses with some of your extra popsicles and Cadbury mini-eggs and run down to the almost-dollar theater and watch a movie barefoot! And then we can stop by the super walmart that is down the street (Frederick is where it's all at!!)

I read the whole list and I'm glad I did. Knowing little tid bits like this about people is fun. You helped remind me of stuff I love too.

Love the pic of you and friends (?) at EFY (?) I've got to get the info behind that photo!!! Brooklyn is adorable. So fun to see her as a grown baby vs. a newborn.

Congratulations on your 100th post!!!! This was AMAZING!!!! It would definitely take me some serious thinking to come up with my 100 favorite things! I almost want to do it, just to see if I can! I loved reading yours!! Gave me new incite into the life of Krista Lundell! :)

Please do! I'd love to hear all the things you all love - I challenge everyone to their own "Top 100" post. Or at least, like, top 40. I've seen so many posts of "complaints" or "pet peeves" or "grievances" that I thought I'd take it the other way!

Oh and for Jen - those are my friends from growing up, and we are at one of my friends' houses in Utah, and let's just say the info behind that picture is classified. (That's code for I can't really remember what the heck we were doing.)

On the 100th day of school, my mom & her kindergarten class dresses us like old men & women!

Man, you & your friends are weird. I'm glad I don't know any of them or had my picture taken like that. *Ahem.* Oh, and I do remember the story behind that pic! It was my 18th birthday, which was on a Sunday (which is why you're all dressed up.) You guys came to my house after church & we had dinner & cake & took a bunch of funny pictures. I still have all of them. I should email you guys copies... if you promise not to post them! :)
I loved your list, by the way! I think I will take your challenge write my own too.

I meant "dress UP" above. Nobody dresses me up. :)

So...is skinny dipping a current or past love? As I was reading through your list I probably stopped like 5 times to go look at the things you linked to, or get Matt's attention to tell him. We had a good laugh about your #47. Those were the assignments teachers would give that I would IMAGINE myself there and then read the shortest poem possible. I have to admit, I've never been a fan of poems, Othello, or Shakespeare (I hope we can still be friends). And I can't believe you love DC drivers, oh my. ON THE OTHER HAND, I LOVE HGTV (Matt thinks I'm crazy and obsessed), cereal (we currently have 19 boxes in my food storage and I plan on getting more very soon), and icecream. I'll start my 100 love list, that was fun to read.

Oh- and the beach at night scares me to DEATH. For some reason I can't help but think about the movie/book JAWS when I'm at the beach at night, and the waves crashing on the beach seem to be extra loud during that time. You're braver than I when it comes to this subject.

I beat you Doreen - 35 boxes of cereal. And skinny-dipping would still be a current one, but I haven't been in a long time. Also I don't like poetry either... it was one of those roll-your-eyes assignments that turned out not so bad. And thanks for ruining the beach at night for me - now I know what I'll be thinking about next time! Oops this is Krista, not Travis. Travis has never been skinny-dipping. I don't think.
