Tagged

Okay so I'm finally back on my blog, and what do I have to show for it? That's right, a tag... Sorry that this is all you get right now. And sorry to those who have tagged me in the past and I never followed through. Maybe someday I will catch up! But for now, here's to my friend Lara, who tagged me.

So here are the rules: List 3 joys, 3 fears, 3 current obsessions/collections, 3 surprising facts, and then tag 3 other people.

Joys

My family... My two sweet girls and of course my fabulous husband are the best things that have ever happened to me (uh oh, two lines in and I'm already sounding cliche...) Definitely my top most #1 joy.

Swimming... Especially now that I am mysteriously way faster than I even was in high school when I was training up to 3 hrs. a day... It's like a newly discovered superpower! (Read: low altitude)

Ice cream... I guess I'm a little embarrassed that this has made my top 3... then again maybe I'm not.

Fears

A death in the family... I should just leave all of Lara's answers here - this is another of hers that I definitely share. A friend of ours just lost their little girl and we have just been sick about it for the past couple weeks. I can't even imagine coming to terms with that kind of pain.

Mascots... I can't even explain this one. I have no idea where it came from. They just scare the bejeebees out of me.

Losing my testimony... I suppose this is a pretty personal confession for a post, but I have to admit it's harder than ever to keep up since having two kids. Sundays are, I hate to say it, generally miserable. I spend three hours in the mothers' lounge, in a hallway with a screaming toddler, or behind the piano in Primary (okay the one relaxing & enjoyable part!), and then I come home completely exhausted, usually angry, totally starving, and not at all spiritually uplifted. At the end of most days it's very hard to soak in a line or two of scripture before dropping into bed. I'm just really hoping that I can do my best for now and then rebuild the damage later on!

3 Obsessions

Cereal... My addiction is even worse than ice cream. When I was pregnant I finally had to limit myself to 4 bowls a day. And THAT took restraint. Right now I average about 3.

HGTV... So you'd never know I was so into interior decorating by the looks of my house... at ALL... but it's only because I lack the very key talent of a creative perspective! If my intentions and my lack of ability could somehow reach a compromise, I'm sure my place would look amazing. As it is, it just looks like the mediocre efforts of someone who watches too much HGTV.

Balancing my checkbook... Hey, some people are addicted to video games. Or crack cocaine. For me, it's Quicken.

3 Surprising Facts about me

I wore lingerie to my high school graduation (which was in New Delhi, India). (Don't worry; no one saw.)

I love Rob Zombie music.

In college, I learned to tap dance.

You crack me up Krista!!! I am with you on many things... ice cream, losing loved ones, HARD Sundays! (I think we get blessings for just going and being an example to our kids!) I can't agree with you on Quicken though--Mike forces me to enter my receipts! :)

i had no idea that someone else shared my mascot fear with me. how nice not to be alone. and not be the only one who totally hated when stupid cosmo cougar came up and sat with his arm around me. i actually moved my chair away from him and fell off the whole platform we were sitting on. not my finest moment. . .

Okay, so I just got back from not blogging for about 2 weeks and I was reading through your blog..."gotta catch up" I thought. And then I realized that I had been TAGGED?? What does this mean? Do I just "Do as your doing follow follow Krista?" (Are you still primary pianist?) I'll re-read this tagged post and try to figure out the technicalities and then I'll start working on my being tagged.

...I'm assuming none of your other friends happened to be named Doreen :) Doreen G. that is.
