I'm a goner...

In recovering from my last overwhelming novel, I have turned my attentions back to the Twilight series. I recently finished the second book (New Moon) in disgust and immediately called my sister to rant about how frustrated it left me. I went off about how ridiculous of a character Edward was and Jacob should totally win and she said, "Oh don't worry, by the fifth chapter of the next book you won't be able to stand Jacob." WHAT? Not what I wanted to hear! Plus I had no intention at all of reading the next book. That is, until my hold on the e-book came up at the library. I have since done nothing else (my daughters can attest to that... have you noticed they look unkempt lately?) and I'm officially hooked. It's strange that this series is such a pandemic but it took me until the third book to even actually like it! I am now counting down to the fourth book (I seriously thought it was stopping at 3) and trying to draw out the third until then. It's pathetic. For more of my obnoxious ramblings, you can contact me personally and I will expound on my strong opinions on the topic of... shallow vampire fiction...

Oh yes and um, pictures of our vacation and my family's visit are coming soon!...

So, I'm dying to see more pics of your girls- especially Brooklyn!!! I saw pictures of her on Melissa's blog and was dying at how big she is now!! She is SUCH a CUTE baby!! I'm not just saying that either!! She really is ADORABLE!! Anyway, thanks for the video tip. Hopefully I'll be able to figure it out!!

OoOOooOOH! I wanted to read these! (although the movie trailer looks like the movies is SOOOOO Highschool, which annoyed me a little) So you REALLY LIKE THEM? you have to tell me all about them!

Oh and as far as the thing that shows when people update... if you go into layout, add page element, its a NEW setting in there. Its like a blog roll or something i think? It doesnt work on Private blogs though. =( i love it! it totally helps!

PS! I want to talk to you about the movie today! I have an idea!

Hey Krista,

It is refreshing to hear some of your frustrations about this series. EVERYONE here is crazed about it, so I started reading it due to recommendations of tons of nurses I work with. I was thoroughly disappointed with the first book, thinking that it was very immature, poorly written and the characters were ridiculously high school. I decided to finish the 2nd book just to see if things got better, and I actually enjoyed the 2nd book more (which was opposite of most people). And I think it was because I didn't like Edward from the start, from the very beginning, I thought he was a prideful, egotistical and selfish dude who was always faster, smarter, richer, and cooler than his so-called girlfriend Bella. So anyway, I started Eclipse before Maggie was born and I was dragging through it. I just barely picked it up again 2 days ago, determined to finish and I must say, I am actually starting to like it. It is still SOOOO high school, like a previous comment made about the movie, but as long as I remember that, I can handle it.

The Wal-Mart store manager was our cashier today (he is also in our ward) & I asked him if they'd be releasing "Breaking Dawn" at midnight like they did Harry Potter last summer. He looked at me weirdly & asked, "Does anyone outside of Utah read those books?" *GASP* I was like, "Um... they have been best sellers. That's national. Duh."

What? What's "Utah" about them? Because the chick went to BYU? Otherwise they have nothing to do with Utah. Maybe published there? Weird. I should ask at our stores out here! Only there aren't many English speakers working here, so probably not people who read in English either.

So, for all of you, whether you did or didn't like the Twilight series so far, you should read her new book "The Host". I actually like it much better than any of the Twilight books. For those of you who thought Twilight was too high schooler-ish, you'll be glad to know that most of the characters in this book are in their early to mid-twenties and therefore significantly more mature and less dramatic. Don't be turned off by it being a book about aliens, it's as undeserved (or deserved in some people's opinions) as being turned off by 'a vampire romance novel'. I personally prefer it to the Twilight series.

I just read Twilight. Everyone seems to love them, but I just thought it was okay. That is good to know it gets better. Maybe I will keep going on the series. Why do your parents live in Hong Kong?
