***WEAK STOMACHS BEWARE!***
There. Consider yourself fairly warned.
Um... maybe I should take the hint when a post about a dinner served at my house has to begin with a completely genuine warning of "WEAK STOMACHS BEWARE!"
Also, I do realize that by publicly reporting this event, I am pretty much ensuring that every dinner invitation I ever extend from now on will invariably be declined.
(I just want you to know that this really DOES NOT happen every time we invite you over for dinner! Pretty much almost never. Usually.)
Anyhow.
Tonight we had our good friends the Burnetts over for dinner. Jeff is in his first year of medical school, and after dinner they were chatting about, you know, medical-type-stuff.
Travis is scheduled to do his first IV tomorrow morning, and in fact was asked to help record a training video to be used for future educational reference. He wanted to be sure he could do it before he had to do it on camera. So Jeff offered his own fabulous veins for practice.
Now I did not witness the actual gruesome event, but I understand it involved a great deal of blood, which was mostly sopped up by the time I grabbed my camera for some pictures! But apparently Travis did a good job, or so said his well-meaning friend.
And, more importantly, he did not pass out.
(You may remember the IV incident prior to Brooklyn's birth.)
What a good sport! Travis even remarked that he wouldn't do that for one of his friends! Ha!
Thanks, Jeff, for offering yourself up as a human sacrifice!
Or, as we like to think of it, donating your body to science.
1 sweet nothings:
Uh.... is there supposed to be blood with an iv?
