Six Years!

Well clearly I have lots and lots (and lots.) of catching up to do, since I've been spending every spare second on Travis's med school applications and also this past weekend I was a little under the weather. Let's just start with Friday, which was our SIXTH wedding anniversary! Here is the obligatory wedding photo:
We had some fantastic anniversary plans (which were Travis's) involving the Potomac and a boat and dinner, and my BFF Wendi was all set to watch the girls. But of course, that morning Brooklyn woke up with a lovely fever, and not wanting to spread it to Wendi's little one, we scrapped our plans and... well pretty much the whole anniversary. (Of course she woke up the next morning in tip-top condition.) We took the girls with us (so romantic) and went walking through the George Washington National Park.
WHO KNEW there was this GIGANTIC statue of Teddy Roosevelt in the middle? I was trying to get a picture of Travis below him so you could get an idea of the actual gargantuan size, but that's when the camera battery died. And thus ends the photographic segment of the entire date.
After our jaunt around the island, we went to dinner at Red Robin (so romantic, again). We put the girls to bed and watched Sherlock Holmes, which we thoroughly enjoyed, mostly I think because we haven't watched a movie together in probably a year. I suggested we postpone the date until the next evening, when babysitters were still plentiful, but Travis insisted that he could commit no more than one day to our anniversary. So, again... maybe next year! I told him he owes me two anniversaries now (since our fifth was spent with him in the hospital for an emergency appendectomy) - we have some serious catching up to do! Come on, I only get one Real Date a year! Now, we haven't been out since 2008 (And even then, Brooklyn came with us since she was like 8 weeks old.) Oh well. SOMEDAY...

Oh yes, and let's not forget the gifts! Travis brought me a card that talks (I love those things) and, since the traditional gift for anniversary #6 is CANDY (I was all over that one. The other option was iron... don't really know what to do with that), I made him hand-dipped chocolates! It was awesome. Mostly because, of course, well I don't even need to narrate the image you already have in your head of me in the kitchen, concocting 8 different types of dipped chocolates. At least these 8 made it into the candy box.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY
to my darling, sweet, thoughtful, kind, handsome, loving husband!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!! So sorry about the sickies--they always hit at the most inopportune times. Although I agree, you really deserve a date. Dates are so refreshing. As if we go out often--not.

Your chocolates look really impressive! You can start planning your 7th anniversary. We'll still be in town!

Happy Anniversary guys!!! At least your 6 year was better than ours! June sure was a great month to get married, but one that I don't think will be the best for us with celerating anniversaries. Between being pregant, having babies, surprise medical procedures, and moves, I wonder if our "make-up" anniversaies will ever happen! Way to go with the chocolates Krista! Very impressive! Miss you guys!

Krista you are so cute! I love you were wearing flip flops under your wedding gown. I wish I did something cool like that.
The chocolates looked amazing, saying you are multi-talented is an understatement!!
