My Bold, Brave, Bald Brother

My youngest brother Ryan is a senior in high school in Hong Kong. This past year his best friend Alex was diagnosed with lymphoma and has been undergoing chemotherapy. Turns out there are a total of 5 students at his school undergoing cancer treatment, so the school sponsored a "St. Baldrick's Day" event. If you haven't heard of this before, it's where people shave their heads to raise money for cancer research (which is a cause we strongly support in our family anyway, thanks to Trav!) The official event was a couple weeks ago, and my mom blogged about it HERE if you'd like to read more.

BEFORE:
(Ryan is in the middle. Alex, on the right, is bald "for real")

AFTER:

His team ("Team Alex" in honor of his friend Alex) alone raised around $1700 as of the event, and the entire school raised an even larger (and growing) amount. You can check out his participant page at St. Baldrick's HERE (and even donate, still, if you are thus inclined)

I am just finishing their team shirts (I know, the event is over, but they can have them for the memory, right?) and will post pictures when they are mailed off!

Nice job, Ryan! You look fabulous.

I can't believe Ryan is a senior. I just remember him as a baby. Crazy! I'm getting so old!
