I know I'm kind of obsessed with having official family pictures taken very often... like every couple of months! But I feel like the girls are growing up so fast I can hardly keep up! Plus Melissa is right down the street and seems to be adventurous enough to step up to my whining about wishing we had new family pictures!!! But trust me, her hard work does not go unappreciated. We are SO grateful to have her! This was our third family photo shoot with Melissa (she also did the girls
when Brooklyn turned 1 a couple months ago) and it was AWESOME!!! She took us to the old farm behind our apartment complex. Turns out she did some digging (research I mean) and it is over 100 years old! I was so enthralled with all the old buildings that she took me back exploring later, just the two of us with no kids in tow (and no high heels. Yes I am a genius.) These were taken a week ago, but I am a slow blogger. In fact I am extremely backlogged but I thought I'd just post these for starters. But enough talk. I know you just want to see the pictures. In fact, if you even read this far, I am very proud of you. And also, hippopotamus.
Look! Brooklyn can SMILE!!!
Um... just not in the right direction?
I love Brooklyn's expression here... it's cute but if you look at it long enough she starts to look kind of handicapped...

THANKS SO MUCH LIS!!! We love youuuuuuuu!!!!!
Oh yeah... and let's not forget the little stowaway I brought home with me!
Speaking of genius... not only did I wear high heels and put my girls in SKIRTS, but I also forgot to change clothes as soon as we got home (though I did not forget to strip down the girls right away and put them in the tub!) Later that night I was sitting on the couch when I spotted this little friend crawling up my leg!
YIKES!!!
That's right, you are looking at a great American dog tick! I kind of freaked out, but Travis captured him and put him in a plastic bag. He also found one on his jeans while we were out in the field. At least they didn't bite us! And at least we didn't find any deer ticks... SO FAR! Anyway.... it was all
TOTALLY WORTH IT!!!
13 sweet nothings:
Okay, just for the "RECORD" you have NEVER once ASKED me for pictures!!! Its always mE!

Those are SO good!! You look amazing, Krista!
That top pic is my ALL TIME FAVORITE!!!! Seriously! These are SO GREAT!! What are we going to do without Melissa!?!!? The barn is such an awesome spot for pictures, but I do have to admit that I'm kinda scared about the ticks. When we went out there with the Gertsch's, we made sure to come home, strip down (in our own rooms of course), and check for ticks. Then everyone showered off afterwards!!! You are brave to go BACK to the barn to do some exploring!! Ahhhh.... makes me itch just thinking about the BUGS!!! Anyway, BEAUTIFUL family- BEAUTIFUL family pictures!!!
The last one is my favorite. I just love the coloring.
Those are adorable! What a great photographer

Awesome pictures!!! I wish I got our family pictures taken as often as you guys. It's like pulling teeth trying to convince all 3 of my boys to cooperate, though. :)
I would be obsessed with taking family pictures too, if they turned out like that! Not only are you guys incredibly good looking, but your friend Melissa really is super talented. Looks great!
GROSS! the tick pic is so freaky! BUT, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Melissa's photos ... so cute.
Great pics as always. Let's kidnap Melissa and not let her move to Texas!
Hey- I've been missing from the blog world for a while but I figured I would resurface every once in a while so people still know I'm alive and that I care about their lives. I HAD to comment on this post. Melissa is so awesome!! They look AWESOME!!!!! I'll have you know that we were flicking ticks off of our boys the whole time. Luckily I wore boots and long jeans. I was really grossed out after seeing them on Mason. We went to take family pictures there the week after Matt learned all about tick diseases in med school and he was about to go crazy. ANYWAYS, the things you have to endure to get awesome pictures...haha!
