A Walk in the Park

This morning I checked the weather forecast and noted with glee that the projected high was expected to be 66 degrees. (Right now, it is in fact 66 degrees.) I was so pumped because our "play group" was planning to go to this ethereal new park Melissa and Anie kept talking about, and I couldn't wait to enjoy all 66 of those degrees outdoors in a t-shirt. But since it still looked a bit cloudy, I threw on a little cardigan as well. Just in case.

Well, by the time we reached the AMAZING park, it was still not yet [even close to] 66 degrees and I'll admit Brooklyn & I froze a little. However, Kate was in toddler heaven. She is so brave on the slides it makes me so proud and secretly a little jealous. Brooklyn & I went down that slide and screamed the whole way (I mean I did, not Brooklyn). It was a really big slide.Brooklyn was a good sport and tried out the swings. She didn't really enjoy being pushed alone, but she liked to curl up on my lap while I did the hard work (pumping). Mostly I like how her awkward bow is too massive to be contained by her little hood. This park had everything a cool park must have. Except a merry-go-round. And teeter-totters. Okay come to think of it I guess it was only a semi-cool park. But I still couldn't get over these swings that look like they belong at Six Flags. Kate rode them with Logan and didn't even bother trying to play it cool. This is what she really thought of those swings:
And this is what I thought of those swings:
Other items of note at the park: Kate loved these little whisper tunnels. I liked how they reminded me of Dr. Seuss.Kate and Logan set off on a little romantic excursion of their own. They definitely had their own little agenda. Here at the park we employ a "don't-ask-don't-tell" policy. We tried to get a couple shots of all the kids together, but sadly they were all pretty clear on the fact that they were here to play, not to sit motionless on the playground equipment and pose. (Lexi was the most adamant about her opinion. Bella couldn't stop clapping. My girls, as usual in group photos, did a lot of staring.)

Also Melissa took these adorable pictures of the girls. I gave up trying to take cute pictures (um especially when I know she and her trusty camera are going to be there). This girl has some mad photography talent.

More updates soon to come. Promise. I've been busy. I mean really really inexcusably busy.

DANG, those are cute pictures of your girls (and of you on the swing :)!!!!! i just can't get over what GORGEOUS eyes they have!!! I was dying while watching Kate ham it up for the camera today! I heard Melissa asking her to do stuff and she was totally following posing orders!! What a doll!!! Ya, it was definitely COLD, so we'll for sure have to go back when the sun is actually out and maybe a good 10+ degrees warmer. I'm totally looking forward to many more park days (and pool days) this summer!!! :) OH YEAH!! Oh, and THANKS AGAIN for letting me use your phone this afternoon! I am SO DONE with my house phone! I couldn't get over what a little Suzy Homemaker you were when I showed up -with your spotless house, dinner on the stove, and fresh (DELICIOUS, might I add) homemade bread just out of the over!!! WOW!! I really need some pointers!! Can i come over more often!

Looks like so much fun!!! Wish I could be there to play with you guys. Kate's hair has grown soooo much! Her hair is really cute. I remember the "mullet", and you were so worried it would never grow in. But you didn't need to be worried, it has grown in beautifully!
