That's right - it's the anniversary of the day I met Travis. How do I know this? We aren't the type to really keep track of anniversaries, other than THE Anniversary of course, but back then I kept a journal religiously (in the days before blogging was invented) and thus this historic day was canonized. Here I give you the original entry as recorded in my journal (brave, aren't I?) - or as Travis likes to call it, my "daily log." I'm afraid he was a little bit right in the content of my journal. Unfortunately this is really all I had to say for the event:
Yep. I fell asleep. As I got up to leave, hoping "the guy I met next to me" hadn't noticed, he casually asked, "Are you tired?" Then I stubbornly said, "NO!" and slugged him and dashed out the door. Okay just kidding. I think I kind of tried to laugh it off awkwardly. Anyway, you've most likely already heard the story. He invited me back (since his WHOLE FAMILY and also friends always meet at Portal G - yes they all witnessed this somnambulistic episode of mine... so much for first impressions) and inexplicably I did come back. Also, the reason his name is not mentioned (I don't think I've ever even told Travis this one) is because for a week or two there I FORGOT IT. Hey I'm not so good with names. Plus there were two of them. And they both kept popping up all over campus and saying hi to me. And - no joke - I never knew which one it was. (Until we started dating of course.)
Anyway, here is the fun part. I've created a QUIZ in honor of our first-time-meeting-anniversary. I just want to say I am SOOOO glad for that November 5th! What if I had never met Travis? I can't imagine my life without that sweet man in it. If I didn't have those beautiful blue eyes to wake up to every day and that cute freckled hand to hold mine, I'm sure I'd never make it. He is everything I've ever wanted and more importantly, everything I've ever needed. Good thing I went to devotional that day!
