50 Years Ago Today...

My beautiful mommy was born!

(Here she was turning 30 or so, I think. She is even hotter now.)

It is hard living so far away from her, especially now that I'm trying to raise two little girls of my own. And having no idea what the crap I am doing. And I think my kids might be starting to catch on to that sad fact...

My mom is so. Much. Fun. We used to stay up late playing cards and laughing hysterically - once she even answered the phone during one of these episodes of uncontrolled laughing, and the voice on the other end responded... "Um... is your mom there?" And she said, "This is the mom!" and cracked up again. She not only condoned the crazy stunts and pranks we would pull in junior high, but usually she would even be our getaway driver! She taught me every song I know (yes even the inappropriate or drinking ones), how to play the piano, to read, tie my shoes, bake, clean, ride a bike, drive a car, go skinny-dipping, tell lame jokes, okay and everything else I know. Well I could go on and on all night about hilarious Kelly stories. But I won't. Instead I will leave you with a few pictures.

And THANK YOU Gigi for having my mom today (well 50 years ago)! We are all so so so glad you did! (I have a new appreciation for people's mothers on their birthdays.)

LOVE YOU!!!

What a surprise! I was innocently checking your blog to find photos of my sweet granddaughters only to find me with short granny hair and coke bottle bottom glasses! Aack! WHERE did you find all those pictures? I didn't know you had a wedding photo or one of me pregnant with YOU!

And then you told all my secrets...

Anyway, thanks for the wonderful surprise. It's nice to be remembered. Love you sweetie!

You guys definitely have the same eyes, and cheek bones--at least the set I've seen. :) That's hilarious your mom "taught" you how to skinny-dip.

HAPPY belated BIRTHDAY to your mom!!! :) What a GREAT mom to teach you so many AWESOME things- I especially liked the pranks and skinny dipping! Nice! That's fun that you have a picture of your mom pregnant with you. After having a baby, I now especially like seeing pictures of my mom when she was pregnant with me. Oh, and I love your missionary episode post! That's HILARIOUS!!
