Okay we already knew that but let me tell you why. First of all he came home from Target the other night with his arms full of giant bags of... tupperware... (Well not tupperware actually, but whatever it is.) I was completely perplexed and also not just a little disconcerted by the $90 receipt that accompanied said plasticware. I was about to give the "we can't afford [fill in the blank]" speech when he opened the freezer and proceeded to reorganize it. This interested me. So I bit my tongue. As any of you who have recently come over to our place and had the misfortune of opening our freezer only to be viciously attacked in the face by flying blocks of frozen chicken might know, my freezer organization skills have never been my strongest point. I was convinced that the freezer was simply too small and even tried to invite the maintenance people from our complex to remedy this problem. They opened the freezer, burst out laughing, and told me politely in so many words that the problem was mine and not the freezer's. Anyway. Somehow Travis made the decision to take this monumental challenge upon himself. And he won.
I wish I had a "before" picture to show you, but I was still skeptical about his expensive plan, so I only have the "after" pictures.
AMAZING! Please note how the door is open and I am not being buried in an avalanche of rock-solid unidentified objects in freezer bags. No more black eyes for our unsuspecting guests! Everything FITS! And there's still plenty of room for ice cream!
(PS Please don't be alarmed by the bananas. They are for banana bread and I assure you are perfectly safe. Um maybe just ignore all the food itself and concentrate on the tetris-quality ingenious organizational design.)

Wow!! Travis should come to our house and organize ours. I about lost a toe one night when the frozen orange juice came soaring out. And we will have to tenatively (sp) plan a camping trip again. BUT...we may not have four wheelers then.:)
Can I hire travis??? I need help with that too!!! And I was dying laughing as i was reading your post. Youre hilarious!!!
Your husband is amazing--that freezer job looks difficult. I'm so glad that somebody understands my cons about New England. (Especially about feeling like a teenage mother...with no educatin--it's probably what they all think, no career, etc.) Have a great day!
I didn't even notice the bananas. Then I couldn't tell that they were bananas, but thanks for pointing that out! Congratulations on the organized freezer and being married to a genious! Way to go!
(We had the same freezer problems. We fixed it by buying a deep freezer chest for the basement. That works well, too, but only if you've got the space. I really don't miss apartment living!)
Um yeah, I'm officially jealous. My freezer is a pile of freezer burned hunks and chicken (there was a sale). Oh by the way I found your site from Erika's. Hope you don't mind if I make you my friend!
What a beautiful freezer!
WOW!!! NIce organizational skills!!! I was totally cracking up reading this!! I can't believe you told management that your freezer wasn't big enough and that they laughed at you!! :) That really is hilarious! Anyway, I loved getting caught up on the rest of your summer as well! So, we're home now!! YEAH!!! I was going to call you today but Madi and I just got a little carried away doing all the things that we've been missing while being away all summer! It was an action packed day today! I'll call you tomorrow! Maybe Madi and I can stop by in the afternoon. I'm hitting the sack early tonight! Talk to you later!
