This is very delayed, but I wanted to post pictures of our trip to the zoo just before Michele left. Brooklyn was 1 week and 1 day old at the time. It was the first HOT HOT day here, so we didn't see very many animals by the time we made it to the zoo. Also there aren't really any pictures of Brooklyn because she spent most of the day napping in the shade of her car seat!
We took the metro in - it was Brooklyn's first ride! This was also our first time out with our massive double stroller. Hm, still not sure how I feel about that monster... It's kind of like trying to get someplace while pushing a truck.Kate hitches a ride... what a lot of walking for a little girl!
Mmm everyone loves ice cream on a hot day!
This is Travis's famous belly picture... it has made him extremely self-conscious about being 30. I think it's just the trademark of a true DAD! (Actually, this is really just a photographic phenomenon. He does not really have a gut like the picture implies.)
Also those sunglasses were my FAVORITE but she lost them at some point during the day... :(
Look! We finally found an animal! (Or as Kate calls them, "anmals") Hm, she looks less than thrilled. (Really she was there for the ice cream.)
So we came all the way to the zoo and the most pictures we took all day were of this tree! Forget the sleepy animals, we want to see the famous DC blossoming trees! Sadly this was the closest we came to seeing the cherry blossoms this year (yes I know that isn't even a cherry).
2 sweet nothings:
Aww! A hot zoo trip with no animals! I've done the same thing before. I'm just glad to hear that you are feeling so good that you are up to making sightseeing trips around town! Strangely, I was the same way after my 2nd was born, and traipsed all over DC wit my newborn! Aww--brings back memories!
youre crazy. I hope im like you when my 2nd one comes. maybe ill be lucky and get a sleeper like Brooklyn! yeah! Sorry about your glasses! Looks like fun though!
